Bridges of Eastern Ontario

This short self-guided
ride is just the ticket when or if you have only a few
hours to spare and/or just want to get away from all the hussle and bussle
of the Rally.
Unfortunately,
there is a dearth of covered bridges in Ontario. Not a single
one. But, we do have some rivers and, inevitably, there is the occasional
bridge too. This ride is about 100km in length and should take between 1.5
and 2 hours. The ride starts by heading northeast to Plantagenet, then
roughly follows the South Nation River upstream, crossing the river in
several spots, to end at the St-Albert Cheese factory. Apart from great
cheese, the outlet also features wonderful ice cream.
This ride follows
the same general route as the Eastern Ontario
Bridges
Multi-Cache Geocache Self-Guided Ride, but doesn't include the clue stops,
nor does it include the cache location.
Length: 100km
Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours estimated riding time. Add additional time for breaks.
Suggested stops: St-Albert Cheese Factory
Notes: Although all roads are paved, some of the pavement is old and includes rough sections. Please drive appropriately.
